Comment: Hi Wags, I first met Chris when I was a young teenager, singing in the talent show! My family are regulars & he soon became a close family friend, Chris always supported me and had a lot of faith in me- always trying to get me to audition again & again. I have many memories of Chris, with a beer and a fag in Hudsons for a good knees up!! I don't think going to Mill Rythe would ever be the same without Chris- he was the spirit of that camp! I will truly miss him, thanks for the site Wags, Lou x

Comment: I had the honour of giving the memorial tribute at his funeral - trying to keep the tears at bay was one of the hardest tasks for me. I just stumbled on this site following a note from Barrie about the concert and find myself having a little tear sat in the newsroom, an unusual site for us toughie journos! Looking at this reminds me what a lovely character Chris was, such a unique and happy boy. I'd like to hear him go "testing waaaan two, waaaaan two" today and sing a duet, one last time.

Comment: Hi, just stumbled on this website too late to make it to the concert this coming Sunday, but what a fansastic way of remembering Chris. I was a Havenmate at Mill Rythe and was lucky enough to remember Chris' first day at the park. Over the two years I worked with Chris he produced amazing arrangements and harmonies for Oliver and Miss Saigon while still finding time to croone away in Hudsons. Chris, you had amazing talent, a genuine nice guy, and will be missed by all, Diolch yn Fawr

Comment: Chris was a great friend to my family over our many visits to Mill Rythe and when we used to come to the Island for our trips to see my in-laws. He was a great encouragement to both my girls by encouraging one into show biz/entertainment (which she is now doing professionally) and the other one who had a bad time during her teenage years. We have many fond memorries (especially the 'bus' quiz question) and many photos. He is very much missed, as my girls still want to tell him about their successes.

Comment: I just wanted to touch base before Chris's memorial concert, as I'm now living in the US and applying for my Green card I can't leave the US right now so I can't make the concert. I'll be there in spirit though, some of my happiest memories are with Chris at Mill Rythe, he was a great friend and I miss him dearly. This website is a wonderful resource though when I need to hear some "Chrisisms!" Cheers everyone, enjoy the concert and Caz, do you remember Paper Moon? (a private joke!)Love Emma.

Comment: What a fantastic night! It was lovely to see everyone, and I only hope 'We'll Meet Again.' We need to sort out a way of exchanging photos (mine are already on Facebook, in the Mill Rythe - the good 'ol days group). Once again, it was a great night, and we definitely raised a glass (or several) to the wonderful Mr. Chris Caswell.x

Comment: I met Chris at Beaufort Hill Infants and knew him through school and beyond. I remember him coming to my 14th birthday party with a bottle of Advocaat, swiftly confiscated by my Mam. Also, a singing sesh at Chris's Mam's house doing Band Aid that SAE still probably has the tape of. We never did organise that school reunion, buddy. Great site, Lisa.

Comment: I had the pleasure of playing with Chris in Plan of Action. Chris taught me a lot in the early days...not least of all the notes on my fretbaord and an occasional scale!! I recall many trips to London for Saturday Superstore (I do wonder if it's still horrible being in love when your 8 and a half!!!) and many more trips to the working mans clubs of the valleys to earn our stripes and get our apprenticeship. Happy days and fond memories of Chris.

Comment: I was at college with Chris and he was a really great friend. Always willing to play the piano for us Traverway girlies and put up with us tunelessly wailing along to Les Mis and Blood Brothers!!! He was also my rock when my mother was taken seriously ill and I will never forget his kindness, loyalty and discretion. I often think of him and it is always with a smile, a great character and a great man xxx
From Barrie Caswell, 6 November 2009
No birthday cards for you Chris, but you're in our thoughts today and everyday.
" Take him in your arms Lord, Guide him through the storm, Sit with him in sunshine, And let the wind blow warm, Play his favourite music, And when you see him smile, Tell him that we love him, And he's thought of all the while"
