Simon Peacock - "The Pie"

Chris and I didn't exactly have a huge amount in common and we certainly didn't share the same taste in music! However performing with Chris was always a memorable and electrifying experience. Likewise a night down the pub with Chris (whether he was leading the entire pub in a sing-along or just enjoying a quiet pint) was the best way to spend an evening out (only bettered by a road trip down the M4.)

I have so many memories of Chris during our time at Uni; on one occasion Chris decided that we should have a sing-along in The Mack (union bar) but as there wasn't a piano in the bar we would have to "borrow" one from somewhere, now Chris being Chris of course he began to hammer out a variety of tunes that were somewhat "politically incorrect" (if you get my gist) as a group of us wheeled the instrument across the campus all singing along at the tops of our voices, it was not exactly the most stealth-like heist in history.... but we got it into the bar and had a fantastic night, typical of so many when Cas took the helm.

Anyone who ever met Chris will remember the amazing entertainer that he was but I was also fortunate enough to hear him on a number of occasions playing a piano that he favoured in an empty common room, just playing for himself and he was one hell of a musician too.

He was also the best friend you could ever hope to have. I never win anything; sweep stakes, raffles, the lottery etc and I think it may be because I used up a fair chunk of luck when I met Chris Caswell on my very first night at University. Love you Chris.
